Competencies
At the Center for Business Information Management, the known competency of the ZHAW School of Management and Law is concentrated in the areas of economics, information technology and management. The transfer of technology from the classroom into working practice – and back again – needs to be as fast, pragmatic and productive as possible. In addition, our academic staff work in close contact with the commercial sector to build bridges between theory and practice. The principal focus lies in the field of business and knowledge integration. This includes aspects of competence from the modeling of business processes to the implementation of business processes as technical workflows. To achieve this, we employ methods from business re-engineering and management in addition to those used in software engineering, especially from the field of software requirements engineering. In the area of knowledge integration, we focus on strategic-structural accompanying measures, which help us to introduce knowledge management into a company.
