The Center for Risk & Insurance (CRI) is the new competence center for economic and social-science issues in the insurance industry. The CRI, which is supported by the Swiss Insurance Association SIA, the economic promotion of the Winterthur region, and the City of Winterthur, cooperates with different research and business institutions from Switzerland and abroad and contributes substantially to the specific education of experts for the insurance industry.

The Center for Risk & Insurance specializes in the study, continuing education, application-oriented research, and consultancy of the following areas:

• insurance industry
• insurance risks
• insurance companies

In addition to the Bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration with specialization in Risk & Insurance - which is unique throughout Switzerland - the center is developing a wide range of continuing education programs with courses and symposiums.

The Center provides know-how for application-oriented research and development projects as well as consultancy assignments. Thanks to the extensive practical experience of the Center for Risk & Insurance team, its research and its autonomy, an efficient and practice-oriented implementation of state-of-the-art theory and practice is achieved.
