The Winterthur Institute for Health Economics is a center of competence for economic and sociological issues in the field of health care. The activities of the institute are focused on the following areas:

• Health technology assessment (HTA)
• Health economic evaluations
• Health service research
• Patient classification systems
• Structure and process optimization
• Managed care und integrated Provision  

The Winterthur Institute for Health Economics provides practice-oriented courses of study at bachelor and master level as well as offering a wide range of possibilities for continuing education in health care. For both public and private institutions, the institute undertakes application-oriented research and is involved in consultancy projects for third parties.
