Business Law

The cross-disciplinary Bachelor of Business Law is a combination of studies in law and in business administration, with a strong focus on national and international business law. The Bachelor of Business Law is a future-oriented course of study that bridges the gap between law and business administration.
The Bachelor of Business Law is offered full time and part time.
While legal practitioners often lack a strong business foundation, business studies graduates often lack a heightened legal awareness. However, many management roles demand such a blend of legal and business skills. The new Bachelor of Business Law offered by the ZHAW School of Management and Law meet precisely this requirement.
The ZHAW School of Management and Law is the first university of applied sciences in Switzerland to offer an internationally accredited degree course in business law. Many German universities of applied sciences have been running business law degree programs very successfully for the past 10 years. The business law degree concept is gaining international recognition, with more than 20 academic institutes in Germany now offering such courses. And universities in other countries, including Austria, Sweden, Iceland, Britain, and the US, are also beginning to introduce business law degree courses.
This trend is in line with recent statistics that show that the job prospects of business law graduates are well above average.
The ZHAW School of Management and Law has been a member of the Tertiary Institutes' Association of Business Law (Wirtschaftsjuristische Hochschulvereinigung) since 2004. This association comprises all universities in the German-speaking countries that have achieved a leading position in the area of business law. In addition, the ZHAW School of Management and Law works closely with its partner institute in Germany, Wismar University of Technology, Business and Design.
